Crosta Mollica Siciliana Sourdough Pizza Review

📅 May 25, 2026 | ✍️ Sneaky305Club

Today’s review takes us to Tesco, where I picked up the Crosta & Mollica Vegana Siciliana Pizza.

This is a new pizza, and it is dairy-free and vegan. I’m not vegan, but it is vegan if you are looking for that. I usually have to go for dairy-free options because of my dairy allergy, so that is basically why I wanted to try this one.

Believe it or not, I had never actually tried one of Crosta & Mollica’s pizzas before, but I had heard good things. So I was hoping this would be good.

🍕 What’s on the Pizza

The pizza has spinach, olives, capers, herbs, and red onion, on their leopard-spotted sourdough crust.

The box does have a lot of Italian words on it, which was a bit much for me when I was already running on fatigue fumes. Saying Italian words on camera when you’re not fluent in Italian and your brain has packed up for the day is definitely challenging.

Disclaimer note: it may contain olive stones, so beware. I don’t want to be sued for any dental issues if you bite into it thinking this is a regular Margherita.

💷 Price and Clubcard

I bought this from Tesco, and at the time it was £4.50 with a Clubcard, normally £5.50. So you are better off having a Clubcard, even if you don’t like cards. I’m not bothered. They can find out what pizzas I’m buying. I don’t care.

🔥 Cooking and First Impressions

Before cooking it, the pizza looked pretty good. It had a nice crust, and it looked like it could be one of the better frozen pizzas.

I was too tired to film the cooking process properly, so I just got on with it. I cooked half of it in the end, because I thought if I liked it, it would be nice to have the other half another time.

I had it with a jacket potato and peas, because that is what I like doing when I have pizza. Pizza, potato, peas. There is probably no Italian approval for that, but it was my dinner.

⚠️ Allergy Note

One thing I did notice on the box is that it says it is prepared to a vegan recipe, but it is not suitable for people with a milk allergy, because it is made in an environment that handles milk.

I have a mild milk allergy, so I was alright with it, but if you have a serious milk allergy, then obviously be careful. Don’t just go by “vegan” on the front and assume it is safe. Again, I do not want to be held responsible. These days, we do live in a bit of a suing culture.

⭐ The Review

When it came out of the oven, it looked good. The sauce had a really nice smell, and you could definitely smell the olives.

So we finally got down to eating it. The sauce was very saucy, but in a good way. It wasn’t a sugary tomato sauce. It had more of a wine-like sauce taste to it, which made it feel a bit more grown-up.

And honestly, the crust was really good.

That was one of the best parts of the pizza for me. I do like crusty pizzas, and this had that proper sourdough-style crust. It felt much more like the sort of pizza you would have out somewhere, rather than just a basic frozen pizza.

Frozen pizzas these days are getting to the stage where some of them are nearly as good as takeaway pizzas. You don’t always need to buy out anymore, and this pizza did feel like one of the better frozen ones.

The toppings were good as well. The veg was nice, the olives tasted good, and everything worked together. It had that more grown-up pizza taste.

This is the sort of pizza you could have with wine and salad and pretend you’re not single. Well, in my case anyway.

It also shows that you don’t always need cheese on a pizza. Sometimes vegan cheese can make a pizza worse, because not all vegan cheese is to a high standard. I don’t mind some of them because I’m used to it, but I know vegan cheese can be a bit hit and miss for many people, so maybe they’ve done the safest option and not put any in.

With this pizza, it didn’t need it. The sauce, crust, and toppings were enough on their own.

I really liked it. The crust was good, the sauce was good, and the whole thing just felt like a proper quality frozen pizza.

It might actually be one of the best frozen pizzas I’ve tried. Big claims, I know.

This is my type of pizza, to be honest. I like veggie pizzas, I like spinach, I like herbs, I like onions, and this is the sort of pizza I would actually order in a restaurant.

Even before I went plant-based years ago, I always liked veggie pizzas. That was basically the only way I used to eat veg back in the day.

🧾 Score

I’m giving the Crosta & Mollica Vegana Siciliana Pizza a 9.3 out of 10.

It’s a very, very good pizza. The crust is excellent, the sauce has a proper grown-up flavour, and the toppings work really well.

At £4.50 with a Clubcard, I think it is definitely worth trying. At £5.50 full price, it is more expensive, but honestly, even a couple of months later, I still think it is worth buying.

Very good pizza. Hopefully we get more good products like this, because reviewing bad ones is not fun, and it definitely isn’t tasty.

🕶️ Stay Sneaky, everyone.
