Birthday Dinner At The Swan In Chappel

📅 July 1, 2026 | ✍️ Sneaky305Club

Yesterday I went to The Swan in Chappel for my 37th birthday dinner with Tilly dog, my mum, and my stepdad.

I don’t know how I’m 37 already, but apparently I am now haha.

For my birthday meal, I think I just wanted something simple. Nothing too fancy, just something I knew I would enjoy, so burger and chips felt like the right choice.

🍔 The Dairy-Free Menu

The Swan does have a dairy-free menu, which made things much easier for me.

I ended up going for the Vegan Dirty Brunch Burger, partly because I couldn’t be bothered worrying about whether a normal burger would definitely be dairy-free. Even with a dairy-free menu, you are usually safer going for the vegan burger.

Also, the burger did interest me anyway, as I had not tried that one before.

🍟 Vegan Dirty Brunch Burger

Vegan Dirty Brunch Burger — £14.95
Tuesday Burger & Pizza offer — £11.95
VG

This came with vegan sausages, vegan bacon, smashed avocado, vegan cheese, and sriracha mayo in a bun, served with chips.

It was a very messy burger, which in my head means it is already better. If a burger is messy, that normally means something good is going on.

🍨 Dairy-Free Dessert At The Swan

They also do dairy-free desserts now, which was nice to see.

I do remember someone commenting when I posted about The Swan before, saying they didn’t do any dairy-free desserts, so it was good to see that had changed.

🍓 Crumble And Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream

Crumble & Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream — £8.75

This was a summer berry crumble served with vegan vanilla ice cream.

For dessert, I went with the crumble and vegan vanilla ice cream. It was quite big, but very tasty.

The server also said that vegan and dairy-free desserts are getting better, which I do think is true now. She had to ask whether it was dairy-free because she wasn’t sure, and I don’t think we even asked her to check, so it was good that she checked herself.

🦢 Birthday Meal Verdict

Overall, it was a nice simple birthday dinner, which is exactly what I wanted.

A messy vegan burger, chips, a proper dairy-free dessert, Tilly dog there as well, and no major dairy stress. That is probably a good birthday meal for me.

Stay Sneaky, everyone.
